What Our Members Are Saying The Disconnect Between Canadian Housing Aspirations and Construction Realities “What the data reveals is a profound systemic disconnect: we have a generation of hopeful buyers who are ready to adapt, and a construction sector eager to build, but both are constrained by a lack of support, labour shortages, and rigid financing models.” — Jay-Ann Gilfoy, President and CEO, Meridian Credit Union, in The Meridian Housing Attainability Report Looking Inside Canadian Boardrooms “I can’t believe how small they are in terms of headcount and what they’re able to deliver in terms of quality of product and go-to-market.” — Brice Scheschuk, Managing Partner of Globalive Capital, speaking with CPA Ontario Get to Know MemberPerks On October 22nd, we invite you to join the free webinar, Get to Know MemberPerks: How to Get Started & Live Demo, to learn how you and your family can make the most of these savings. For years, most executives inherited their view of a business from the top down. Griffin built his from the ground up, delivering packages before working through nearly every role in between. That journey gave him a front-row seat to how Toronto business has changed, from serving the neighbourhood to competing globally, and what it now takes to keep up. Here are three takeaways from Sean: 1. What's changed most about doing business in Toronto since you started? “When I started as a driver 22 years ago, most small businesses I worked with were focused on serving local customers. They weren't thinking about international growth. Global demand wasn't knocking at their door in the same way. Now, even small businesses are being asked to serve customers across the country and around the world.” 2. Things have changed for companies, but what’s different about consumers now? “Consumers want speed, full visibility, and no surprises. They expect to know when their package will arrive, and to have control over the delivery. What we provide is an end-to-end network supported by digital solutions that make that possible, so our customers can meet those expectations consistently and keep their own customers coming back.” 3. What do you wish more business owners understood about logistics? “Logistics has a direct impact on business growth. If businesses can’t deliver reliably or don’t understand their costs upfront, it holds them back. When it’s done right, it opens new markets, improves customer experience, and helps them scale faster.” Read more here. Members: are you driving change in your industry? The Talk Track “Where a lot of leaders go wrong is that their teams ask them to speak on these really big topics and come up with a perspective. When you start at the top, it leads to high-level corporate speak. Through our work, we find that's not really the right approach. It's actually bottom up: you want to ask the very practical problems and questions you help solve day to day. That's how you start to build your point of view.” — Daniel Di Federico, Founder, trends.ceo, at the Member Workshop, How to Build Executive Visibility That Drives Reputation and Opportunity Upcoming Member Workshops Our Member Workshops are hosted by Members and built to share expertise, spark connections, and equip you with practical solutions you can use right away.
